Attempting to Get Lost !

Oil on Panel , 8" x 11" 2015
I having said this before  and am  guilty again of using images in class for my students that I have been thinking about painting myself. It makes it easier for me to  convey my ideas to them  or others creating from scenes that I am working with or thinking about. If a scene is personal not just something chosen at random to fill the time the experience of  learning is one of true value. Valuable for me to work out my ideas in front of others including my mistakes and for my students to see not only technique but the thought process behind the creation.

So this is one I had them do awhile back somewhere in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Near the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania on a road I ended up taking while attempting to get myself and my wife lost. It is wonderful  just driving down a road no one else seems to want to travel not knowing what you might find.It is why I always say that I do not select the scenes I paint they select me and they  just seem to appear when you least expect them.

This is just sketch, an 8 x 11 inch oil on panel an idea I am still pondering and waiting to seeif it will grow up to be a finished painting someday.
